Description

The Yorkton Tribal Council is seeking one (1) highly motivated individual for the position of Justice Facilitator in the Justice Department.  Reporting to the Director of Justice, the Justice Facilitator is responsible for the Preventative Justice Programming for the member First Nations.  The Justice Facilitator will write proposals, and coordinate programming for the geographical area that the Yorkton Tribal Council, Tribal Justice Unit covers.  According to community needs and statistics, the Justice Facilitator will work with representatives to offer solutions through workshops, training and seminars.  
Works in conjunction with the Justice Coordinators to achieve specific program duties (e.g. gang intervention, information sharing / networking, justice education etc.)
Coordinate YTC gatherings, meetings sessions or specific projects related to Restorative Justice or programming
Maintaining confidentiality with respect to delivery of Justice services
Keep in confidence all file information respecting victims and offenders, in accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act and the Canadian Criminal Code
Conduct presentations, meetings with communities, schools and aboriginal groups to share information relating to programming and to ensure community commitment to community development for future Justice and crime prevention programming
Assist communities with program and/or project development
Justice Committee Training (mediation, circles, information etc.)
Case preparation  reporting to Database
Gather and submitting all necessary documents for the purpose of statistical analysis
Keep records of offenders referred to the program as required by funding agencies
Train for self-study, research, supervisor contact
May be required to cover Courtworker duties
Other duties as required
