Description

Reporting to the Safety Officer, this position is responsible for the following duties:

Responsibilities include:
Maintain specified routine inspections to ensure safety systems
Assist with training for safety related courses  Participate in hazard identification and workplace inspection
Issue safe work permits (confined space entry, ground disturbance, hot work, etc)
Participate in the Emergency Response Team
Perform routine respirator maintenance and respirator fit testing
Promote health and safety initiatives
Provide site-wide guidance to employees and contractors on safety related issues
Ensure company and individual compliance with established company policy, legislated requirements, etc.
Required to work independently and, where necessary, take charge of situations. Must be able to make decisions
under pressure
Required to have a sound knowledge of the company's operations and of the requirements imposed by legislation
Ability to interact with the public and all site personnel

Skills and Qualifications for the position include:
A safety diploma or degree is preferred
Excellent oral and written communication skills are required. Candidates may be required to write an aptitude test.
Be capable of handling multiple priorities, work independently, and within a team environment
Must be physically fit
Proficiency with Microsoft Office
Experience working in an industrial or mining environment is preferred
Experience in fire suppression systems and training would be considered an asset.

Work Location & Schedule:
McClean Lake Mine site
7 days in and 7 days out rotating schedule
Normally an 11 hour work day, although some activity outside of normal working hours is frequently required.
Pick-Up Points: Saskatoon, Prince Albert, La Ronge, Buffalo Narrows and the designated communities in the
Athabasca region of Camsel Portage, Uranium City, Stony Rapids, Fond du Lac and
Wollaston
