Description

Primary Responsibilities

1. Plan and coordinate the annual Scotiabank AIDS Walk For Life including the following:

- work together with All Nations Hope Network, a partner organization in this event  
- liaise with national organization to ensure that all forms are completed and supplies ordered
- promote the event and recruit participants
through mail, email, social media, print
advertising, and in-person promotion
- contact local businesses (new and previous) for sponsorships of prizes,volunteers,donations of food and supplies
- keep in contact with registrants to provide
updates and to encourage fundraising
-coordinate event site, route, venue, ceremonies, entertainment, MC, and food and beverage supplies for the event day
- arrange for media coverage, and complete
interviews as needed

2. Provide assistance with office tasks including the following:
-assist with clerical duties including filing,
data entry, phone reception
-other duties as required

Skills

-Strong planning skills with an attention to
detail
-Ability to promote the AIDS Walk with individuals and organizations and recruit participants and sponsors
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills
-Able to work independently and in a team
environment
-Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office
-Knowledge of HIV/AIDS and Harm Reduction would be an asset

Requirements
*-A current drivers license
*Must be returning to school in the fall ( ages
15-30)
*Priority will be given to Aboriginal candidates.
