Description

We are looking for qualified individuals to referee our no-cut, co-ed, recreational Outdoor Soccer league for kids ages 4-15. The season runs from May 12-June 18, 2015. The season windup tournament will be on June 27, 2015. Games are on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays (6:30pm/7:30pm).

Responsibilities:

     - Provide a safe recreational environment for participants
     - Establish positive relationships with participants
    - Ensure inclusion of all participants
    - Facilitate group decision-making
    - Referee participants
    - Resolve conflict effectively
    - Communicate with parents/guardians regarding program information and updates (i.e., games canceled due to weather)
    - Keep Program Coordinator informed of all pertinent information (i.e., match scores)
    - Perform other duties as assigned

    - Strong interpersonal skills

    - Knowledge of the challenges facing at-risk youth
    - Group facilitation skills
    - Leadership skills and self-confidence working with little or no supervision
    - Ability to adapt to a dynamic and changing environment
    - Be well informed off soccer rules and regulations
    - Ability to be a positive role model

This is an excellent position for University students! The ideal candidate will be pursuing a degree in a related field (e.g., Kinesiology, Education). Experience in soccer leagues and/or reffing a strong asset. Must provide a Criminal Record Check!
