The Regina Open Door Society Inc. is seeking a qualified individual to staff the full time position of Settlement Case Worker - Resettlement Assistance Program (RAP). The start date for this position is June 1, 2015.
The ideal candidate will have relevant post-secondary training or two year related work experience. Demonstrated maturity, the ability to work cross culturally, a positive attitude, the ability to document cases, effective organizational, communication, time management and basic computer skills will be necessary. The successful applicant will also require a Saskatchewan class 5 drivers license and drivers abstract.
As part of Resettlement Assistance Program (RAP) and Orientation Services for Newcomers Program team, this position will perform a wide range of duties to assist immigrants and refugees with their settlement and adaptation.
Duties include the following:
- Provide refugee reception,
- Conduct Intake and Needs Assessment
- Develop a settlement plan
- Assist with Federal/Provincial documentation and information on client rights and responsibilities
- Deliver newcomer orientation/ information
- Arrange for interpretation and translation services
- Provide life skills training and home visitation
- Provide referrals to community services and case management.
- Provide Solution focused counseling for clients with settlement difficulties
- Complete all reports as required by Regina Open Door Society Inc. and funders.
Hours of work are Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM with an Earned Day off (EDO) every other Monday or Friday. All position at RODS require a clean criminal record/child abuse registry check. There is a cost shared benefits package and 3% contribution to Saskatchewan Pension Plan available to the employee with successful completion of a six-month probationary period.
