Description

The North Central Community Association is looking for a Renew Project Coordinator.  The Renew Project Coordinator will be responsible for implementing the Renew Project?s strategy of: 1. Educating residents and property owners about property crimes and reporting process. 2. Engaging residents in taking pride in the physical environment of the neighbourhood through volunteer events. 3. Providing service for victims of vandalism by removing or repairing damage by working with offenders and community volunteers.

Key Responsibilities:
Coordinating community work-bees to do minor yard work, clean up graffiti and garbage on selected North Central city blocks
Recruiting and supervising community volunteers
Assisting with the coordination of the annual community clean-up event with over 100 volunteers
Reporting
Supervise Summer Student assistant
Weekly communications to stakeholders and partners
Creating and distributing promotional materials and flyers
Assisting with setting up a mural painting in the community

Qualifications:
Be able to do physical labour including safely lift 50 lbs, bending and kneeling
Strong organizational skills and experience working with Microsoft Office especially Word and Excel
Experience with community development and crime prevention
Experience with exterior painting and graffiti removal an asset
Experience teaching and working with children and adults
Experience with surveying and interviewing public
Experience with event coordination and volunteer recruitment
Possess a valid drivers license and reliable vehicle
Understanding of North Central neighbourhood an asset
Can work independently and as part of a team

Flexible hours with an average of 35 hours per week.
