Currently a casual vacancy exists within the Housekeeping/Laundry/Special Care Aide department of Eatonia Oasis Living.
This position is responsible for;
- Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of the facility and provides direct resident care.
- Maintains overall cleanliness of facility by daily cleanliness of all resident's rooms, bathrooms, nursing station, service room areas, tub rooms, equipment and various other locations and equipment.
- Restocking shelves
- Responsible for resident and facility laundry and pressing if required
- Ensuring proper identification of resident's personal clothing items
- Responsible for assisting Resident Care Aide with or by assisting clients with personal hygiene such as bathing, toileting, care and cleaning of incontinent residents, shaving, dressing, caring for hair, teeth and nails
- Assisting with meals and snacks, and feeding clients when necessary
- Making and changing beds
- Responding to client call bells
REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience in housekeeping and laundry is preferred.
- Standard First Aid Certificate and current CPR Certification are requirements to have or obtain within the first 3 months of employment.
- Upon completion of the first 3 months of employment, a 16 hour personal care worker course is required through St. Johns and cost of course covered by Eatonia Oasis Living.
Shifts are 6 and 7 hours and must be willing to work both day and nights and weekends.
Wages are based on agreement currently with CUPE and Eatonia Oasis Living Inc.
