Reporting to the President and CEO, the Executive Director, Communications provides leadership and advice on communications strategies and activities to the CIC Minister, Board and Executive. This position is accountable to create and implement communication strategies that promote CICs vision, mission and values, and develop related objectives to measure the degree to which desired results are achieved. As well, the position oversees the implementation of communication strategies throughout the Crown corporation sector. This senior level position also has the primary responsibility for liaising with government and Crown corporations, recognizing and engaging with strategic external stakeholders, and building and maintaining key relationships with Crown corporations and government to ensure a pro-active and coordinated approach to communications activities and issues management. This position will prepare communication strategies, manage media relations, understand the fundamentals of efficiency methodologies, coach and develop Communications Unit staff, and participate as a member of CICs Executive Team.
