R Thompson Construction is seeking a well-rounded journeymen carpenter to run a building crew in Whitewood and the surrounding area. We are looking for people who have initiative, enthusiasm, and a willingness to learn.
Applicants will also be involved in all aspects of general home construction including the foundation, framing, roofing and finishing.
DUTIES
Produces carpentry products and services by following standards and procedures; measuring results against standards; making necessary adjustments.
Determines material requirements and dimensions of structure or fixture to be fabricated by using blueprints, sketches, or building plans.
Prepares layouts by following carpentry procedures for fabrication of counters, cabinets, benches, partitions, floors, doors, and building framework and trim.
Ensures construction quality by verifying trueness, level and accuracy of completed work to plans.
Complies with federal, provincial, and local building codes by adhering to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
Oversees a crew of 1-5 people at job sites and ensure their work is to specification.
Completes periodic reports on workers within the employees crew
Interacts with customers and builds positive relationships with them.

RENUMERATION
We offer a comprehensive benefit package with a salary range of $20/hr to $30+/hr, time-and-a-half paid overtime and benefits through Great West Life.
We are willing to negotiate salary depending on experience and qualifications on and applicant-to-applicant basis.
The successful applicant, on submission of a clean driving abstract, will be given a company truck to utilize on the job and a travel benefit.
