An exciting opportunity to work in Northern Saskatchewan! Working under the direction of the President CEO, or designate the Librarian is responsible for overseeing the operation of the NORTEP/NORPAC library including the provision of library and instructional AV services to meet the academic needs of students and staff. This Non-Permanent position will include library administration, the selection, organization and maintenance of collections, teaching information literacy skills as well as the librarian's other subject specialties, providing reference services, scholarly research, and writing help to students. The Librarian will work closely with an assistant, administration, other faculty, and students in facilitating an academic environment that honors and respects the growing cultural diversity in northern Saskatchewan.
Qualifications: The successful applicant will possess:
. An ALA-accredited Master's Degree in Library Science is preferred.
. Consideration will be given to a Master's Degree in a social science subject with experience in
an academic or school library environment.
. Experience with L4U library software
. Strong organizational skills, communication skills, and written communication skills.
. Strong computer skills and the ability to operate appropriate audio-visual equipment.
. Knowledge of First Nations, Metis, and northern Saskatchewan culture is important to this
position.
. Ability to speak an Aboriginal language is an asset.
. Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse Clearance.
