Description

Weyerhaeuser Hudson Bay is looking for a candidate a strong safety background and will be reporting to the Mill Manager.  This position will help to provide leadership excellence, understanding, and driving safety goals.

Key Functions:
Provide full time health and safety support to the site and ensure that all practices are in compliance with corporate and regulatory agency requirements.
Build a positive working relationship with all regulatory agencies.
Set safety objectives and targets to ensure that goals are achieved.
Provide leadership, coordination and technical expertise in the areas of environment, health and safety and support the site in training and developmental requirements.  
Responsible for coordinating internal and external audits that support the Health and Safety exchange.  
Ensure accurate and timely environmental and safety reporting follow up
Continually improve environmental and accident prevention programs and techniques.
Audit for compliance on an ongoing basis.
Be a role model for safety on and off the job.

Requirements:

Prefer a BA degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field.  
Demonstrated 3-5 years experience working in the safety field for manufacturing.
Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal and electronic communications skills.  
Strong planning and organizational skills
Strong work ethic, good judgment and decision making skills.
Demonstrated results in achieving and sustaining business goals.  
Knowledge of business and financial concepts.
Demonstrated results in achieving and sustaining business goals.
Ability to analyze and present data.
