Description

Cheshire Homes of Regina is seeking enthusiastic, kind and creative support staff to work with adults with physical and intellectual disabilities. Through person-centered planning, our objective is to assist and support individuals in making choices that maximize their potential and quality of life. Supports vary depending on the individual's specific needs and goals.
Applicant must show willingness to build meaningful relationships with the individuals we support, understand that challenging circumstances may arise, and be confident in their abilities to remain respectful and compassionate in all situations.

Duties:

-Assist adults with physical and intellectual disabilities in a group home setting with all aspects of daily living
-Accompany individuals on recreational outings
-Help to encourage positive interpersonal relationships, and motivate individuals to build life and social skills.
-Provide physical and personal support to residents as necessary (this may include bathing, dressing, feeding, toileting, oral hygiene, and any other tasks necessary to promote the health and well-being of Cheshire residents).
-Carry out Person-centered plans with residents, co-workers, families, and community resources
-Lifts, transfers and repositions for those individuals with mobility limitations
-Housekeeping, laundry and the preparation of meals and snacks
-Store, administer, and document use of medications
-Other duties as requires

Desired Qualifications & Experience:

-Experience working with individuals with diverse needs is considered an asset
-Ability to engage with residents, get creative and have fun are requirements!  
-Must demonstrate cooperation, teamwork, energy and optimism.
-Must be available to work day, evening and night shifts.
-Ability to perform physical tasks
-Non-violent crisis intervention training
-Gentle Teaching
-Mandt
-Police Record Check
-First aid and CPR
