Description

Reporting to the Program Coordinator, the Employability Instructor will plan, organize, and implement an instructional program and learning environment that develops the basic employability skills of students. Using a combination of classroom instruction and real life work simulations/experiences, the goal is to work as a team to provide students with the skills and dedication needed to enter into employment, into further educational, technical and vocational training or self-improvement.  

Education and Experience
Bachelor of Education Degree
Saskatchewan Professional A Teaching Certificate
Two years of experience in an educational setting or related work environment

Duties/Responsibilities
Specific duties will include a mixture of:
Instruction and Facilitation
Classroom Management
Student Assessment and Needs Identification
Job Coaching and Mentorship
Resource Management
Administration

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of and a commitment to the goals and objectives of adult education and ability to adapt to and work in an adult education environment
Knowledge of ABE specific subject matter with specific demonstration of ability to instruct the following:
o Life Works 10
o Life Transitions 30
o Work Experience 30
o Employment and Life Skills Preparation
Knowledge of individualized and classroom instructional techniques
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with people from diverse backgrounds and with people who have varying skill levels
