Description

Amec Foster Wheelers Mining business is seeking an experienced Manager, Construction located at our Mosaic Esterhazy project site near Esterhazy, Sk. Reporting to the Project Manager, the successful candidate will provide overall leadership for the construction site in Esterhazy. Responsibilities:
Plan, direct and monitor construction related activities including estimating, controls, constructability, productivity enhancements, HSE & Quality performance management;
Assist Project Managers in establishing and maintaining project budgets and schedules;
Bid clarification of trade contractors with regard to scope of work, costs and schedule;
Supporting health, safety and environmental procedures on site in accordance with legislation and company policy;
Supervise and coordinate subcontractor job site operations;
Maintain good relationships with the client, inspectors, subcontractors and other key project staff; and
Coordinate job progress meetings with subcontractors and the project management team;
Qualifications:
Minimum 10 years construction management experience including previous experience in managing multiple subcontractors in large scale, heavy industrial projects;
Trade Qualifications, with additional engineering qualifications as an asset;
Proven achievements in leading the execution of large-scale projects, shutdowns, turnarounds and maintenance contracts;
Strong skills in planning, scheduling, cost control, safety and construction;
Resourceful self-starter with a strong work ethic and strong interpersonal and communication skills with a positive team orientation is required; and
Intermediate level skills in MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint.
