Vertex Field Services Ltd. is currently looking for numerous Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) personnel to work remotely throughout Saskatchewan. The scheduled work will be on-call for assisting with front line forest fire response, in extremely remote locations. The successful candidates will have previous, relevant experience within the forestry industry providing emergency medical services.
Specific Responsibilities
-Provide advanced first aid/medical aid to employees to promote and support a healthy and safe work environment
-Provide medical assessments and treatment plans, and implement follow up with evaluation of care
-Ensure the medical station is in excellent functioning condition by completing various safety, inventory, and maintenance tasks
-Manage sensitive, confidential information while displaying sound and objective judgment.
Maintain accurate and confidential medical records in accordance with established medical records protocol
-Ensure all paperwork is completed, organized, and submitted
Education and Experience
-Licensed with the Saskatchewan College of Paramedics
-Certification in BTLS
-Valid H2S Alive, PST/CSTS, TDG, WHMIS, eGSO certification
Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.)
- Driver's licence
Specific Skills
- Administer medications and provide advanced emergency treatments to patients
- Administer pre-hospital emergency care
- Transport patients to hospital or other medical facility for further medical care
- Maintain ambulances and emergency care equipment and supplies
- Document and record nature of injuries and treatment provided
- Assess extent of injuries or illness of trauma victims to determine emergency medical treatment
