Dispatcher needed for specialized heavy haul division. Richards Transport hauls large oversize and overweight loads throughout North America. Our team handles approximately 35 trucks on any given day. Not all 35 trucks need loads each day but do need to be communicated with each day for location updates and permits required on their trip etc. Experience in the area of dispatching and anything related to the trucking industry would be an asset but not necessary. What we do need and insist on is someone with strong time management and organizational skills. Must be extremely good at processing large amount of pager making sure it is done professionally and with accuracy. The candidate selected for this job with need to be proficient in data entry, as orders need to be self generated as they come in and then updated until final price added and sent for review.
In this position the person selected will also be dealing direct with customers and drivers on a daily basis. Trucks are dispatched with a satellite system but some phone exchange is necessary with the large loads we haul . Im sure it is already clear that typing skills and being familiar with all your basic computers skills is needed, including word perfect and excel.
