Under the supervision of the YWCA Director of Housing for Children and Youth, the Resident Manager is responsible for supporting the administrative function of two emergency receiving centres for children in the custody of the Ministry of Social Services. These homes care for children ages 0-12 years on a 24 hour basis. The Resident Manager supports the day-to-day operations of the shelters and provides backup to the program staff.
Responsibilities include:
Administrative
-All staffing including scheduling, training, maintenance of all records, problem-solving
-Review and update of policies as assigned by the Director
-Proper record-keeping and submission of all expenses and donations to finance department
-Coordination of all physical maintenance of the building
-Ensure that all actions of the agency are accomplished in an ethical and prudent manner.
Program Functions
-Supervise the daily activities of the shelter
-Coordinate and support program implementation
-Ensure that records on intake, discharge, communication are complete and accurate
-Ensure that proper ratios are maintained.
Qualifications:
-A working knowledge of both administrative and program needs and a strong knowledge of family residential agency operations is essential
-Proven ability to care for children of various ages who are coping with family crisis, change and separation
-Demonstrated respect for children and families of various backgrounds
-Strong leadership skills and a clear understanding of teamwork
-Ability to manage multiple demands and deal with high stress situations
Valid Saskatchewan driver's license
First Aid/CPR Certification (Level C)
-Criminal record check
-Training in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention is an asset
-A degree or certificate in a related field
