Description

The Saskatoon Downtown Youth Centre Inc. - EGADZ requires an Outreach Worker interested in Casual shifts for Operation Help as well as Outreach Workers for the Street Outreach within EGADZ.

EGADZ is an inter-agency, non-profit organization whose purpose is to provide services for hard to serve youth in Saskatoon with the mission to encourage and support them to make choices that improve their quality of life.

The EGADZ Street Outreach provides support and services to those who are at risk or who are already leading at risk lifestyles.  Outreach connects with individuals through contact by way of our van, which is on the streets seven days a week.  Outreach provides advocacy and follow up services.

Operation Help works for those involved in the sex trade to access immediate support from the various agencies that can provide the expertise and services required to assist each individual while transitioning to a more positive lifestyle.

The ideal candidates are non judgmental, compassionate and are able to build trusting relationships with clients.
Qualifications:
Post secondary education in the human services field, equivalent experience or a combination of both
Demonstrate and practice a healthy lifestyle
Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with youth, staff and partnering agencies and maintain strict confidentiality and appropriate boundaries
Ability to express ideas and concepts effectively in an oral and written form
Working knowledge of computers/windows
Knowledge of Aboriginal and cultures and issues
Must have a valid drivers license that reflects a safe driving record - A Driver's Abstract is Required (Within 3 Months).
Child Welfare Check
Criminal Records Check including Vulnerable Persons (Within 6 Months)
Ability to work shift work is a must-days/evenings/nights as well as weekends
