Reporting to the CEO, the Childcare Centre Director will be a full-time employee responsible for a number of duties surrounding the day-to-day operation of two childcare centres (74 spaces downtown and a 35 space childcare centre in Sutherland) for children ages 18 months 6 years. This includes ensuring that all safety, Ministry reporting and quality requirements are met as per the Ministry of Education Regulations and YMCA National.
Responsible for direct supervision of children and staff during the specified hours of operation of the childcare centre.
Ensures the satisfactory completion of various administrative/program tasks are carried out as directed including, but not limited to: accepting parent payments, maintaining petty cash, ordering supplies, assisting in creation of centre budgets, and shopping as needed.
Early Childhood Education Level III Certification or willingness to obtain is required. Comprehensive knowledge of play based, child directed learning is an asset.
Completion of Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector a requirement, as well as Child Protection training in accordance to YMCA Child Protection standards.
