Description

The Armand Bekkattla Treatment Centre is now accepting applications for the position of Executive Director.

Armand Bekkattla Treatment Centre is a residential treatment centre for adults, located on the Clearwater River Dene Nation.  The Executive Director will report to the Board of Director's; the ideal candidate for this position will be a person who can provide innovative and strength based leadership.

Relevant experiences

- Senior management level work, including supervision of a diverse team of staff.
- Financial management
- Strategic planning
- Program development/evaluation
- Addictions programming
- Working within a culturally diverse environment

Key qualities

- Broad view of the continuum of addiction services.
- Excellent understanding of substance abuse continuum and mental health issues, as reflected in population health data on concurrent disorders, models of treatment, etc.

Qualifications

- Degree/Diploma in health/human services and demonstrated capacity to work in the administration and addictions field.
- Must lead a life of sobriety and one free of addictions.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with previous experience.
- Supervisory and management experience.
- Knowledge of the treatment of substance abuse and mental health issues.
- Current knowledge of the dynamics of addictions.
- Organizational skills and an ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal form.
- Knowledge and understanding of aboriginal culture, language, organizations and communities.
- Maintain good working relations and an active liaison with all professionals, organizations, community groups and individuals directly or indirectly involved in the operations of the Treatment Centre.
- Must have a valid driver's license
- The ability to speak Dene would be an asset.
