Facility: BATTLEFORDS UNION HOSPITAL

Department: BUH-LABORATORY

Hours of Work:
  In a 1 week rotation: 5 shifts of 7.50 hours

Salary or Pay Band:
  Salary and benefits as per terms and conditions of employment

Job Summary:
  Reporting to the Director of Laboratory Services, the Quality and Regulatory Manager has delegated responsibility and authority to oversee compliance with the requirements of the Laboratory Quality Management System, Biological Safety, Microbiology and Point of Care Programs for the Region.

  The Quality and Regulatory Manager will provide guidance and consultation to a varying degree to all front line staff in the laboratory and has the authority to ensure compliance with policies, procedures and regulations.

Experience:
  Minimum five (5) years experience in a hospital laboratory environment

Required Qualifications:
  Member of the Saskatchewan Society of Medical Laboratory Technologists and the Canadian Society of Medical Laboratory Technologists
  
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  Excellent interpersonal skills
  Ability to work with a wide variety of people
  Possess a comprehensive knowledge of a laboratory quality system and the Human Pathogens and toxins Act (HPTA) in the workplace
  Problem solving skills
  Decision making abilities
  Ability to work independently
  Organizational skills
  Time management skills
  Excellent oral and written communication skills
  Knowledge of computerized laboratory information systems
  Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel is required

Additional Text:
  Biosafety and the Human Pathogens and Toxins Act education preferred
  Quality systems for Clinical Laboratories education preferred
