Description

Reporting to the Deputy Chief Electoral Officer, Corporate Services and Electoral Finance, the Director of Finance is responsible for:
- Managing all aspects of the institutions accounting activities and processes;
- Leading the development and implementation of institution-wide budgeting and forecasting processes;
- Analyzing financial data and developing reports, variance analysis and other financial tools to support accountability and expenditure management;
- Overseeing the auditing and reporting of annual registered political party fiscal period returns and the auditing, reporting and reimbursement of all election expense returns under The Election Act, 1996 for candidates and political parties; and
- Providing support, direction, training and advice on financial administration and payroll matters to election officials located in 61 constituencies across the province.

The successful candidate will have:
- A professional accounting designation and a  minimum of 10 years of experience in similar positions;
- In-depth knowledge of financial planning, accounting, forecasting, expenditure management and audit theories and principles;
- Experience with payroll processing;
- Experience in interpreting legislation and regulations;
- Strong verbal and written communication skill with the ability communicate complex information to a diverse stakeholder group;
- Ability to research, analyze and assess information to develop and prepare reports, proposals, recommendations and items for decision;
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills;
- The ability to prioritize competing assignments and adhere to critical deadlines.
