OVERVIEW:
The Instructional Designer will be responsible for working with existing courses and curricula to prepare them for online delivery. S/he will also work closely with the ICT team and Educational Technology consultant to determine the needs and capacities of our communities. The successful applicant will also help to develop and implement a framework for distance education within T4EA First Nation schools.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors degree (Education or related field). A Masters Degree is not required but would be considered an asset. Specific training/education in Instructional Design is an asset
2 plus years of experience working in Instructional Design and/or distance education preferred
A working knowledge of Instructional Design principals and best practices; experience conducting needs assessments and program evaluations also an asset
Experience writing and/or revising curriculum
Experience working within an LMS and course authoring tools
Effective communication skills and the ability to connect with people from many backgrounds
Experience developing and implementing learning programs for a variety of audiences
Engaging, collaborative leadership style with mature interpersonal skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple, competing priorities and deadlines
Passionate and committed to working with First Nations children, youth and families, using a strength/asset-based approach that aligns to the goal, vision and mandate of the Treaty 4 Education Alliance
