The primary aim of the Goose Lake Education Centre is to provide an education service on the Sakimay First Nation in which youth can grow in the knowledge, love and practice of the First Nation Culture, in addition to the regular education program prescribed by the Saskatchewan Department of Education. Sakimay First Nations, depends on their Educational staff for the accomplishment of their goals for the children from Nursery to Grade 4.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Possess a valid Saskatchewan Teaching Certificate
- Willing to work in co-operation with Teacher's Assistant and Saulteaux teacher
- Must possess the ability to communicate effectively both in writing and orally
- Possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- Previous experience teaching aboriginal students would be an asset
- Knowledge of First Nation Culture and Traditions would be an asset
- Early childhood development classes, behavior mangement, and/or special education training would be an asset
- Have the ability to work effectively with other educational personnel
- Have a commitment to the community
- Ability to work independently
- Knowledge of curriculum programming would be an asset
- Applicants must submit a criminal records check with vulnerability sector check
- Possess a valid Driver's license
