POSITION: FARM LABORER with DRIVERS LICENSE
- Pruning of trees.
- Equipment use is with razor sharp hand tools
- Landscape installations (commercial & residential) away from the plantation.
ABILITIES:
- The trimming of trees is done by clipping the upper portion of the tree with hand pruners.
- The side of tree is sheared with a razor sharp knife with 16 inch blade and a 10 inch handle. This knife demands significant physical force to repeatedly swing and trim off excess foliage. It must be swung with speed and authority to accurately trim a straight line.
- This is a very physical occupation; you must have the energy to be fast in your use of hands, walking in general, enjoy competitive hard labor and then go home tired and dirty and desire to come back and do it again the next day (only strong healthy coordinated people should apply).
- You must have a natural ability to have excellent form recognition and be also have great hand-eye coordination to perform well at this job.
WORK SCHEDULE: (40+ hours/week, schedule dictated by weather conditions)
- Monday to Friday (if rained out during the week then Saturday): prune/trim trees culturing fullness/shape.
- You have the option of working extra hours each week.
WHERE:
We are located 24 km south of Prince Albert. A vehicle to transport staff leaves the city at 7:30 AM. The plantations are located 24 km south west of Prince Albert.
REQUIREMENTS:
Footwear must be steel toe
Rain gear is essential
Bring your lunch and 4 litres of water daily
Bring your sunscreen if needed
