Canadian Isotope Innovations Corporation is being established to accomplish on a global basis, the production and distribution of medical isotopes. This start-up entity has a commercialization plan which involves the establishment of a production facility using high-power electron linear accelerators. In addition, the facility will contain a GMP laboratory and processing center to ensure a high quality product for commercial distribution of radio-pharmaceuticals.
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer of Canadian Isotope Innovations, the successful candidate will be a part of a small and highly skilled team. The nature of the work is such that there is opportunity to specialize in areas and techniques of mechanical engineering that are relatively unique. A self-motivated individual with an eagerness to learn will do well in this role. On-the-job training and mentorship opportunities exist for a candidate with the aptitude and motivation to learn. Intrinsically motivated individuals will do well.
Duties:
Leadership of design and development of the Medical Isotope Production facility.
Incorporation of radiological As Low as Reasonable Achievable (ALARA) protection principles.
Management of facility operations and maintenance.
Integrating engineering oversight, project processes and discipline design standards.
Technical direction, field engineering, and project management of industrial operational facility.
Ensure and improve the safety, performance, productivity of operations through effective methods and strategies.
Ensuring engineering work is done in accordance with CLSs processes, procedures, standards and regulatory requirements.
