Description

The Mistawasis First Nation Health Program is seeking a Home Health Aide.  The Home Health Aide will work as part of the Mistawasis Health Team to ensure that services are delivered in accordance with the Homecare Program.

DUTIES:
Under the supervision of the Home Care Nurse, the Home Health Aide is responsible for assisting individuals with home management, personal care and with social and recreational needs.  The Home Health Aide supports and encourages clients and their families to remain independent in their home for as long as possible.
1.    Assisting clients with activities of daily living and personal care as assigned and supervised by the Home Care Nurse.
2.    Provide home management assistance as assigned by the Home Care Nurse.
3.    Use communication skills to give good client care.
4.    Other duties assigned by the Home Care Nurse.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Home Health Aide certification


REQUIREMENTS:
Good communication skills, both verbally and written.
Able to follow directions and maintain confidentiality
Be physically fit and able to perform all duties such as lifting and turning individuals, and various household duties
Must show respect, empathy, concern and interest in providing quality care for individuals
Ability to keep accurate written records
Be a team player
Must have current CPR certification
Must  submit a current Criminal Record Check (CPIC) and a Vulnerable Sector Search
Must have a valid driver's license.
