Description

As an integral and highly visible member of the Kargan team, the Maintenance and Grounds Keeper performs a wide variety of tasks set out by the Property Management team.  They must ensure that the properties assigned to him/her are diligently managed and well maintained.  The Maintenance and Grounds Keeper is the face of Kargan Properties andis responsible for ensuring industry-leading levels of quality workmanship, a friendly disposition and excellent customer service.

Responsibilities:
Perform routine ext. maintenance, may consist of but not limited to:
Upkeep of grounds with regular lawn mowing, edge trimming, watering, etc.
Snow removal of sidewalks and walkways.
Fix and maintain any work needed on ext. envelope of buildings.
Lubricate and maintain ext. doors.
Order and purchase supplies (Ice melt, light bulbs, plants)
Perform routine int. maintenance, may consist of but not limited to:
General upkeep of all common areas.
Check and adjust all fixtures.
Perform general maintenance of swimming pool area (drain & pressure wash twice annually).
Must keep a daily log of all ongoing jobs, work orders, mileage, etc.
Respond to residents after hours emergencies.
Execute all work in a safe, professional manner in compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Legislation.
Other maintenance/grounds duties as required or assigned by the Property Manager.
        
Required Skills & Abilities:
Five years relevant experience
Basic plumbing, electrical, heating dry walling and carpentry knowledge an asset
Physically fit (ability to move heavy items)
Safety conscious and safety oriented attitude
Must have own tools and a valid drivers license
Must be flexible and able to change roles/responsibilities as required
Must possess a high degree of professionalism/accountability
Highly organized, results oriented and ability to work well independently
Must possess Boiler operator certificate
First Aid an asset
