Description

Ground Effects is seeking individuals who are dedicated team members with a strong work ethic and positive attitude to fill the role of Millwright. This is work at the journeyman level to assemble, install, maintain, troubleshoot, overhaul and repair custom oil field equipment.

Skills & Qualifications:
- Journeyman Millwright Certification or Interprovincial Red Seal
- 2 positions:
   (1) with 3-5 years post qualification industry experience
   (1) with 10+ years post qualification industry experience
- Experience with electrical schematics and systems in an industrial setting a definite asset
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Preference given to those with welding ticket (MIG, TIG, and stick/arc welding)
- Must have strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills
- Must be physically fit to lift and/or move up to 50lbs
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced and innovative team environment
- Ability to quickly adapt to multiple projects

Responsibilities & Duties:
- Read blueprints, diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures
- Assemble, fit, and install prefabricated parts that include motors, pumps, piping, vessels, and vessel components using hand tools, power tools and hoisting equipment
- Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs to a wide variety of equipment and custom manufactured remediation and treatment systems
- Diagnose mechanical defects and/or equipment malfunctions and determine modifications, corrective action materials and supplies required
- Operate small cranes/forklifts
- Operate threaders, grinders, welding equipment and other machine tools to fabricate parts
- Perform work safely and follow established work procedures
- 80 hours per two week period (no weekend or shift work); some overtime may be required
