Description

Prestige One Catering operates a restaurant/lounge and large banquet hall at the Turvey Centre. We offer competitive wages and a health benefits package.

This position acts as assistant to Head Chef.
Responsibilities Include:
Preparing and producing food items, a la carte, buffets, banquets, etc. to specified requirements
Flexible; open-minded and confident to take over any section of the kitchen operation at any time.
Ensure a high level of food quality, value, consistency, and satisfaction to the guests
Proper handling of food, equipment and utensils.
Prepares food according to Chef's specification and recipes.
Receive food, check inventory, event orders and prepares them as required.
Clean and maintain his/her working place, equipment and utensils.
Check the sauces, meats, fishes, vegetables, fruits and all pre-cooked and raw items and to prevent spoilage.
Supervises and participates in the meal service.
Follows and enforces the hygiene and safety standard set by the Public Health Department.
Co-operates and delegates work properly and in fair manner.
Supervises the general cleaning and proper handling of food leftovers (reusable) after meal services. Re-organizes refrigerators, re-stocks items, re-organizes section for next meal period.
Responsible for setting up breakfast, lunch and supper buffets
Minimizes waste and optimizes leftovers
