We are looking for a Full-Time Restaurant Chef at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel and Conference Centre in Regina, SK.
Reporting to the Executive Chef, the Restaurant Chef is responsible for assisting in managing the kitchen and stewarding function, for directing all aspects of food preparation and presentation for food outlets, meeting the highest levels of quality and cost-effectiveness consistent with hotel standards and performance requirements.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsible for assisting in the overall management of the Food Preparation Department
Ensure that all food products produced are of the utmost quality and appeal
Operation of the kitchen in the absence of the Executive Chef and Executive Sous Chef
Provide training, cross-training and performance management for kitchen staff
Acts as a liaison with other departments
Maintains all occupational standards i.e.: Food Safe, WHMIS, Health and Safety Policies
Assists with monthly inventories and maintains budgeted food cost
Provide a creative and fun environment
Attend all departmental communication meetings
Other related duties as required
Preferred Education & Qualifications:
3-5 years experience as a First Cook within a full-service property or restaurant
Food Safe certification
WHMIS
Previous experience supervising Kitchen staff will be preferred
Must have strong multi-tasking abilities along with excellent communication and organizational skills
Strong interpersonal skills and leadership ability
Excellent motivational and coaching skills
