Description

The Housing Director will oversee the maintenance and upkeep of on-reserve housing. Utilizing technical expertise, local labor, and a staff compliment, the Housing Director will ensure the annual budgeting and regular upkeep of various buildings and equipment. The Housing Director will also ensure that appropriate training and supervision of staff is carried out according to budgetary allowances and programming needs. The Housing Director will also maintain and upkeep an inventory of equipment and tools necessary to the departments functions. He or she is responsible to initiate and implement Program/Project Policies and Procedures, developing effective work processes and solving operational problems. The Housing Director must be team oriented and work closely with the departmental supervisors, finance and administration councilor portfolio, human resources and the operations manager.
QUALIFICATIONS: The successful applicant must possess the following:
? Diploma/Degree in Business Administration or equivalency of 4-5 years relevant working experience.
? A demonstrated ability to plan, organize, schedule and supervise the work of staff, estimate time and equipment required to do a task; includes staff involved in related and unrelated concurrent projects;
? Knowledge of financial reporting requirements, budgeting, and interpreting of financial statements;
? Knowledge of health & safety regulations; Oral and written communication skills
? Analytical and interpretive skills, with the ability to make intelligent, efficient and expeditious decisions.
? Possess user experience in Computers and housing software programs;
? Demonstrated knowledge of Housing issues and maintenance.
REQUIREMENTS:
? Must possess a valid driver?s license and a reliable mode of transportation.
? Must submit Criminal Record Check and voluntary drug screen.
