Job Description:
Above and Beyond Autism Consulting Services (ABACS) is
currently seeking Instructor Therapists to work with children
with Autism Spectrum Disorder in a centre-based program. The
Instructor Therapist works one-on-one with a child with autism, implementing programming using the Verbal Behaviour approach and the principles of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA). Intensive training and supervision are provided on-site to the Instructor Therapist on a daily basis.
Duties:
Working as part of a team, each Instructor Therapist is
responsible for implementing programs under the supervision of
the ABACS Owner. Programs include teaching language
and communication, social skills, play skills, and academic
concepts. Instructor Therapists are responsible for keeping
accurate data, graphing, and for preparing materials for the
client. Instructor Therapists work closely with the ABACS
Consultant and family to provide a quality and supportive
program.
Requirements:
- Applicants must hold or be working towards a degree,
diploma or certificate in a related field such as Psychology,
Education Early Childhood or Kinesiology.
- Graduate Certificate in Autism and Behavioural Science is a
definite asset.
- Applicants must have an understanding of Autism Spectrum
Disorder and knowledge of Applied Behaviour Analysis.
- Applicants must be outgoing, enthusiastic, dependable, and
possess strong organizational skills.
-Must successfully complete the mandatory training
requirements.
Start Date: September 8, 2015
Hours: 20-25 hours/week
