The Accounting Manager is responsible for the day to day management of the accounting department, including the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the Company's reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles and other regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities include:
Ensure that accounts payable are paid in a timely manner
Ensure that accounts receivable are collected promptly
Ensure that periodic bank reconciliations are completed
Oversee the completion and close of month end
Oversee the completion of bi-weekly payroll (ADP)
Ensure that required debt payments are made on a timely basis
Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
Maintain an adequate system of internal controls
Issue timely and complete monthly and annual financial statements
Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management
Prepare and analyze month end reports and provide recommendations
Provide financial analysis as needed, in particular for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations
Support installation of a new ERP system (Epicor - http://www.epicor.com/default.aspx )
Ensure compliance with all provincial and federal tax and payroll regulatory filing requirements.
