Responsible for the mechanical repair and maintenance of a variety of heavy mobile equipment, the mining equipment, rail locomotive, rolling stock and vehicles on an assigned shift in continuous mining operation. Duties include but not all inclusive; diagnose and repair gasoline and diesel engines, transmissions, differentials, planetary drives and hydraulic and air actuated equipment; repair tracks and align wheels and frames, replace brake linings, perform motor tune-ups, repair and replace vehicle apparatus and accessories; repair coal handling equipment, including railroad equipment and other assigned duties.
Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.)
- Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic Trade Certification
- Driver's License (Class 3 or D)
