Key Responsibilities:
-Prepare and facilitate daily classroom discussion/activities for clients
-Assist with resume building, job search and interview skills with clients
-Assess employability needs of clients at intake through administering employability assessment tools and through interviews
-Assert a positive, professional leadership role with participants
-Update and use social media to recruit and communicate program announcements and community resource posts
-Assist Coordinator in evaluations with clients
-Prepare accurate reports on the day to day activities and client progress/concerns
-Assist with coordination of evening social events
-WHMIS Instruction in addition to other employability skills including math
-Assist with various duties and office administration as needed
Qualifications:
-Experience working with marginalized youth
-Experience with group facilitation and understanding of group dynamics
-Ability to work independently and as part of a team
-Experience instructing employability skills including numeracy and literacy
-Excellent organizational and time management skills
-Understanding, knowledge, and experience working with First Nations and Metis community
-Experience with case management and good reporting practices
-Knowledge of community resources
-Life Skills Coach certification and/or a certificate in the humanities field would be an asset
-WHMIS Instructor certification would be an asset but training will be provided
-Criminal record check
-Valid drivers license and a reliable vehicle
