Unique Contract Interiors (UNCI) is a commercial supplier, manufacturer and installer of restaurant and other hospitality furniture. UNCI has been in business for over 26 years and are looking to add a hardworking, motivated individual who can manage our shop production, schedules, and staff for commercial and residential projects.
The key duties & responsibilities for this position are listed below:
- Be responsible for managing the day to day production activities on the shop floor.
- Must have experience in project management (ideally in the construction sector).
- Must work closely with UNCI's head Project Manager to establish detailed schedules and be able to delegate them to the shop staff.
- Be responsible for ordering all UNCI manufactured products as well as inventory items for shop departments.
- Must have experience with inventory controls, PO's, and other accounting/admin duties (Simply Accounting or Sage 50).
- Must be approachable and able to problem solve questions that arise on the shop floor.
- Experience with OH&S policies considered an asset.
- Work closely with UNCI's Office Manager to manage repairs and some residential projects.
- Must be capable of running scheduled meetings with staff members to ensure timelines are upheld and questions are answered.
- Organization is crucial in this role.
- Be capable of handling potential conflicts if they arise and handling as per the UNCI HR Manual.
- Be able to understand blueprints & layouts.
- Understanding of and tools considered an asset.
- Post secondary education in an applied area is considered an asset.
