The Nipawin Director of Business Development will have a key leadership role in implementing our 2020 strategic plan to achieve the vision:  `Nipawin is the most sought after community'.

The Director of Economic Development will be a key team player in implementing the Town of Nipawin's 2020 Strategic Plan to grow our population, develop & foster regional partnerships, tourism, & commercial & industrial base. The Director of Economic Development will provide the CAO, Council, & the Town of Nipawin with the pathway to success through collaboration, policy development, & inspiration.

The primary duties of Nipawin's Director of Economic Development will be two-fold:
1) Maintaining the current Economic Development programs & for the Town of Nipawin &  
    Department of Economic Development, Business & Planning
2) Supporting the evolution & success of Regional Economic Development Partnerships including tourism, foreign investment, growth of new business & industry, & retention & expansion of current business & industry

The Director of Economic Development provides leadership & is responsible for the Economic Development department staff, tourism, business & industry development activities, liaison with municipal & First Nation partners & various Provincial & Federal Ministries.

The Director of Economic Development supports the CAO in ensuring that the strategic direction & development process of Nipawin & region capture the needs, aspirations, opportunities, & objectives of the regional stakeholders

The successful candidate will have 15 - 20 years' experience as a leader in Economic Development with a proven track record of new business development, marketing, tourism, positive community engagement, leadership & inspiration
