The File Hills Qu?Appelle Tribal Council is a non-profit organization that provides a range of programs and services to 11 First Nations throughout Southern Saskatchewan within the Treaty Four Territory.
As a member of the FHQTC Health Services Team, the Community Research Assistant provides community leadership, communications, and administrative/logical support for the research project: Access to Culturally Safe and Relevant Care for Diverse Indigenous People of Canada. This position will be based out of FHQ Health Services Office located in the All Nations? Healing Hospital in Fort Qu?Appelle, SK.
This position will work closely with the FHQTC Health Services and members of the First Nations University of Canada research team to carry out the planning, development, monitoring and evaluation of the research project. The Community Research Assistant will conduct narrative interviews with Elders, clients, community health care workers and health care professionals to understand how they define cultural safety and culturally safe services for service delivery. The Community Research Assistant will maintain accurate records of interviews safeguarding the confidentiality.
Required Qualifications:
? Degree in human services field and/or related education.
? Knowledge of the principles of research and program evaluation; program planning, implementation, evaluation and reporting.
? Experience in community development, facilitation, and liaison activities;
? Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team structure, and contribute to a multi-disciplinary team of professionals and community workers;
? Must possess exceptional written and oral communication skills;
? Must possess a valid SK driver?s license and reliable vehicle;
? Must possess a criminal record check.
