Southeast College is currently recruiting part-time EAL (English as an Additional Language) instructors.
Multiple positions available in; Estevan, Indian Head, Kipling & Moosomin. Please specify the location you are applying for in the subject line of your application email i.e. EAL Instructor MOOSOMIN.
These contract positions will start on September 11, 2015 and end on June 30, 2016. Days of work may vary but will be approximately 6 hours per week. Scheduled school breaks are: Dec 20, 2105-Jan 13, 2016; Feb 7- 13, 2016; March 25 - April 2, 2016.
Under the supervision of the EAL Coordinator, the duties of the EAL Instructor include but are not limited to; preparing lessons based on learner need, organizing learner assessment, providing language instruction to meet identified outcomes, arranging community outings and speakers and promoting EAL services within the community.
The minimum qualifications required to perform the functions of this position are; a Bachelors degree preferably in a related area, interest in becoming registered with TESL Saskatchewan and pursuing training in the area of EAL instruction, willingness to provide flexible, collaborative instruction based on the principles of adult education.
Vulnerable Sector (VS) check is a condition of employment. This process verifies whether an individual has a criminal record, as well as any record suspensions for sexual offences and local police records for information relevant to the VS check.
The following skills are preferred but not required; knowledge of adult education principles, experience training or tutoring adults, experience in education or human services
