Description

This position will research and respond to a wide range of research and statistical information inquiries from internal and external clients. This includes gathering, analyzing, evaluating and preparing reports on statistical and research data for use by a diverse audience including internal operational departments.

Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, or Actuarial Science and 3-5 years of experience demonstrating knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated below:

OR

A degree in related field (Economics or Business), with 4-6 years in a complex business environment with a specific focus on data analysis, business process analysis and complex reporting, with demonstrated knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated below:

Experience:
- Data analysis - collecting, transforming, modeling, profiling, and interpretation of large data sets. Summarizing and reporting of results in audience appropriate context.
- Predictive analytics: mining historical and transactional data to identify risks and opportunities.
- Developing adhoc queries and corporate business intelligence reports.
- Creating written business reports of a qualitative and quantitative nature.
- Good communication, presentation and influencing skills to all levels of an organization, including senior management.
- Ability to work closely with peers and build strong partnerships with key stakeholders.
- Advanced working knowledge of MS Office applications including Excel and Access.
- Strong organizational, project management and multi-tasking skills.
- Understanding of requirements for data governance and data quality management.

Knowledge of government, the insurance industry and actuarial services are preferred but not required.

Knowledge and experience using SQL and SPSS is an asset.

Equivalent combination of education and experience that result in the required level of knowledge, skill and competence, may be considered.
