As part of the Disability Intervention Services team, you will be involved in assessing the vocational, educational, and rehabilitative needs of claimants who are disabled. You will also develop and implement approved rehabilitation service delivery plans based on claimant needs and contractual provisions.
Accountabilities
-Assessment of vocational rehabilitation potential and needs through file review and direct interview of individuals receiving disability benefits.
-Provision of counseling and/or referral services as necessary regarding identified needs of claimants.
-Development of realistic, cost-effective rehabilitation/return-to-work plans.
-Preparation of written reports detailing finding and recommendations.
-Active management of functional recovery and return-to-work expectations with employees, employers and care providers.
-Recording accurate billing information.
Qualifications and Competencies
-Bachelor Degree in a discipline related to vocational rehabilitation counseling and related work experience.
-Experience with insurance rehabilitation or the field of vocational rehabilitation.
- Pursuing a CCRC, RRP or NIDMAR designation.
-Excellent communication, listening and interpersonal skills.
-Strong assessment skills with proven experience identifying barriers and goal setting.
-Adept at understanding medical issues surrounding disabilities.
-Ability to accommodate a home-based office with equipment supplied by Great-West Life.
-Willingness to travel with a valid drivers license and vehicle are necessary due to the travel requirements.
