Description

Wright Construction Western Inc. has been in the construction industry for over a century. Our head office is located in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan with a branch office in Calgary, Alberta.  Wright Construction employs approximately 200 people and, though most of our projects are in Saskatchewan and Alberta, we have run jobs from British Columbia, Manitoba and Ontario as well.   We hold COR safety status in both Saskatchewan and Alberta and offer competitive wages and benefits.

Wright Construction Western Inc. is currently looking for Safety Coordinators for various projects in and around Saskatoon.  These positions are full time, permanent.

Responsibilities
Maintain statistics and records and monitor accident/incident frequencies and safety violations; conduct investigations and complete related documentation.
Assist in the planning and start up of new projects with respect to safety requirements. Candidate will conduct Pre-job and monthly Hazard Assessments.
Inventory safety related training of workers; conduct new worker safety orientations.
Regularly monitor safety compliance of workers and subcontractors; conduct site inspections and institute remedial action if required.
Keep management current on the status of any issue(s) that may impact on the work being performed.

Qualifications
Qualified candidates will have achieved certification under the Occupational Health & Safety Act and Regulations (CSO Designation) as well as 5+ years of related experience with construction projects, preferably with a general contractor in the commercial and institutional sectors.  Your strong knowledge of the Act and Regulations combined with well-developed interpersonal skills; strong verbal and written communication skills and a high sense of urgency are keys to success in this fast-paced role.
