Description

We are looking for a dedicated individual to provide ongoing care to our mother in Weyburn. Build a relationship and enhance the life of this senior and support her family by providing a variety of non-medical services that allow her to remain in our home with dignity, care, and compassion. Successful candidates will demonstrate professional, compassionate approach to caregiver job, excellent communication skills and will offer flexible, reliable availability.

Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Companionship and conversation - encouragement / support
- Assisting with light house keeping
- Assisting with meal preparation
- Assisting with daily activities, appointments, preparing events on the calendar
- Assisting with personal care: ambulation, transfers, grooming, bathing, toileting, and incontinence care, medication reminder
- Driving - escort on outings, appointments and errands. She has her own car which can be driven.

Requirements:
- Preference for candidates with health care certificates: RN, LPN, CCA
- Ability to treat and care for an older adult and her property with dignity and respect
- Ability to communicate with an older and family members in a friendly and congenial matter
- Ability to bend, twist, stoop, kneel, and reach. Ability to lift, push, pull 25 pounds
- Ability to drive to medical appointments, using client?s vehicle
- Provision of criminal record check and driving history, evidence of valid driver?s license

Scheduling:
- Preference for candidates who can provide a variety of weekday and weekend days during morning, afternoon, evening, and or overnights.
- Each visit will be a minimum of 3 hours (some longer shifts)
- Starting with 15 hours per week (morning/afternoon/evening) and increasing (potentially to 20 hours or more per week) over the coming months

Training:
- On the job support provided from our family

Wages:
- $20 per hour depending on services being provided
