Description:
University Park Pharmacy is looking to hire a part time pharmacy assistant to join our team! Our community pharmacy is part of Amenity Health Care, a growing provider of health and wellness services in Canada.
Hours of Work:
We are open Monday to Friday 9am-6pm, and Saturdays 10am-5pm. The successful candidate will have flexible availability during those hours. We are closed evenings, Sundays and most statutory holidays. Please note that this is a permanent position, not a summer position.
Key Responsibilities Will Include:
-greeting patients as they come into the store
-entry and maintenance of key patient information on patient files
-receiving written prescriptions and refill requests, and verification that information is complete and accurate
-data entry of written prescriptions into Kroll, and processing of third party billing
-accurate preparation of pharmaceutical products (counting, weighing, mixing, labeling, blister packing, etc)
-answering of telephones
-ringing in customer purchases through the cash register
-assisting customers by answering general questions, helping them locate items, and referring them to the pharmacist for any medical information
-maintenance of pharmacy inventory
-sending, receiving, and putting away of orders
-prescription filing
-maintaining a clean and clutter free work space
Skills and Qualifications:
-strong customer service skills
-excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
-attention to detail
-ability to catch on quickly to new tasks and a willingness to learn
-caring and empathetic attitude
-works well independently, as well as part of a team
-ability to work efficiently while maintaining a high degree of accuracy
-reliable and dependable
-pharmacy experience and knowledge of Kroll software are assets
