Description

Farmer Direct is a locally owned and operated organic co-operative that markets oilseeds, legumes and cereal crops on behalf of its farmer members. It is the only company in North America to combine the three attributes of; farmer-ownership, domestic fair trade and organics, under one brand. Farmer Direct is looking for an experienced controller to join its team, on a part-time basis (40% - 50%). If you feel that you can help us achieve our potential, we look forward to hearing from you.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Administer, compile, process and analyze   financial information
Monthly financial statements, variance analysis and  cash flow projections
Financial policies, systems and procedures
Measurement of company operations including; production costing, margin measurements and inventory control
Administer accounts payable, receivable,& payroll
Financial statements, estimates, summaries, operational and capital budgets
Financial reporting systems and accounting procedures

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
Accounting degree or professional designation (CPA) and or extended, proven work experience
Solid knowledge of the complete accounting cycle including yearend audit
Computer literacy and excellent working knowledge of Windows-based accounting packages and Quick Books
Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports
Well organized and able to meet deadlines
