Reporting to the Executive Director, Corporate Services, an employee in this job will provide vision and leadership for developing and implementing information technology, information management and Geomatics/GIS initiatives by directing the investigation, development, implementation, and maintenance of organization-wide strategic and operational strategies for all information and Geomatics/GIS systems and applications. This employee will ensure that all Business Information & Technology Systems (BITS) unit activities support WSA business operations and improve cost effectiveness, service quality and business development. Working with others involves understanding, tact and motivation skills as this employee will be required to deal frequently with other staff in the delivering of services. This employee requires a well-developed understanding of human behaviour and those factors that influence or cause behaviour change.
This employee requires extensive knowledge and skill and broad information systems experience and a command of information systems theory and principles and involved, diverse practices and precedents. This employee is responsible for guiding and coordinating the information systems functions organization-wide which has a significant impact on the organization. There is a need for consensus building and establishing effective partnerships and communication processes to meet the needs of WSA.
