Competition #I-0212 As the educational leader in the classroom, instructors will be responsible for delivering SIIT programs and curricula with the purpose of promoting student success. They are to plan, organize and implement an instructional program which creates a learning environment that guides and provides the greatest opportunity for student success. These include the following broad range of accountabilities:
Prepare lesson plans and appropriate delivery methods
Create, maintain and submit all course-related materials including evaluations, attendance records, course evaluations, and annual year plans
Incorporate current technology advancements within instruction and administration where applicable
Make recommendations to modify course objectives, course outlines, curriculum and evaluation procedures and instruments
Adhere to and promote academic regulations and SIIT policies and procedures
Foster a positive, collaborative and professional working relationship among students, coworkers and partners across the institution
Ensures a positive, diverse and inclusive work and learning environment
Maintain classroom, and lab discipline and, if necessary, recommend action to applicable supervisor regarding student behavior, including formal student disciplinary action
Required Qualifications and Experience: A Bachelor of Education from an accredited institution. For success in this position a genuine commitment to help students learn and succeed is required. Prior teaching experience is preferred. Knowledge of First Nations cultures and organizations is considered an asset.
