Description

David Aplin Group, one of Canada's Best Managed Companies, has partnered with our client, to recruit a Senior Electrical Engineer Lead, based in Saskatoon.  

The Role:

Designing unique custom products for the mining and resource industries;
Ensuring safety throughout design and production stages;
Providing senior reviews and checks for Custom Product designs;
Interfacing with customers and understanding their individual requirements;
Increasing the capability and performance of our EITs, Junior Engineers and technical personnel through mentoring and performance feedback;
Troubleshooting technical problems in-person, over the phone and / or by email;
Design new and unique products for customers in a variety of industrial applications and sectors.

The Ideal Candidate:

Four-year Electrical Engineering Degree;
Eligibility to Register as a P.Eng. in the Province of Saskatchewan;
At least eight (8) years of experience in electrical design of mine power systems, including 5kV and 15kV distribution, 600V and 5kV MCCs, automation and control;
Experience with 25kV and 34.5kV systems is advantageous;
Experience in the mining industry, particularly potash mines;
Oil Sands and Oil & Gas experience will be considered an asset;
Project management experience in leading mid-sized projects;
High level of attention-to-detail and effective time management skills;
Good communication skills;
Ability to work with hand tools, multi-meters, dielectric test units, voltage and current sources, and meggers;
Ability to troubleshoot equipment;
