The Saskatchewan Literacy Network invites you to apply for the position of Aboriginal Family Literacy Engagement. This position focuses on resource development, outreach and increasing family literacy capacity within Aboriginal communities. The success of this role relies on an individual's ability to work with community, and to plan, coordinate, and facilitate professional development opportunities.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
1. Post secondary education specializing in family literacy or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
2. Knowledge of and the ability to effectively apply adult learning principles.
3. Understanding of the complexity of family literacy and the family literacy field in Saskatchewan.
4. Previous experience in Aboriginal engagement and education.
5. Previous experience in group facilitation and the delivery of workshops.
6. Ability to work well independently and part of a team.
7. Ability to initiate and develop relationships in community.
8. A valid drivers license and criminal record check are required. Must be willing to travel throughout the province.
